About Michelle

Michelle graduated from Mohawk College with a diploma in Business Accounting. Following a co-op at CRA during college, and a 10-year career in Accounting & Office Administration, Michelle decided to follow her parents lead and take the leap in to real estate. Since 2009 Michelle has been a full-time Sales Representative with RE/MAX® and has never looked back! In the beginning of 2011 Michelle joined forces with Josy D’Amico and the LOVE Where You Live Team. “It’s a great fit because of our shared passion for the business as well as making customer service our number one priority, it’s really about relationships with people.

I LOVE what I do and it shows... I really think it's important for my clients to feel like they can have an open relationship with me. You need to trust me and believe that based on my years of experience, my marketing savvy, knowledge of the business and ability to close a deal, I can facilitate the best possible outcome. This website is a measure of the quality of service you can expect from me. Real Estate is in my blood. My father, Eric De Groot was a top producing Realtor® and taught me so much while we worked together. In addition I worked alongside and learned from marketer extraordinaire Josy D’Amico for 10 years. Upon each of their retirements they entrusted me to carry on their businesses. In my personal life I am a proud aunt to one niece and two nephews! And I have a 15-year-old pug named Sophie and 2 cats Lucifer & Bartholomew. I’m a lifelong Hamiton resident and my partner and I purchased my childhood home in the city! 

What Is an ABR® Designation, and Who Is It For?

The Accredited Buyer’s Representative (ABR®) designation is for Buyer’s Agents who focus on working directly with Buyer clients at every stage of the home buying process. To obtain this designation the REALTOR must complete courses an exam and provide proof of Buyer representaction successes. Receiving valuable real estate education that elevates their skills and knowledge through ongoing specialized information, programs and updates that keep them knowledgeable on issues and trends facing home buyers. 

A Seniors Real Estate Specialist® (SRES®) is uniquely qualified to help you take the next step. As someone over the age of 50, your needs aren't the same as a first-time homebuyer or seller. You might be looking to retire, downsize, or join an active adult community. Whatever reason you may have for considering a move, you can depend on an SRES® to guide you through every part of the process. Having completed requisite courses and obtaining required skills to focus on specializing with these individuals.
